Hypoxic neuropathy

Hypoxia-induced neuronal degeneration and death is believed to be the the model of many clinical conditions, including diabetic peripheral neuropathy, stroke and brain damage during cardiac arrest. In order to establish these clinically relevant disease models and search for potential solutions, we developed various types of neuropathy models caused by hypoixa using integrated research strategies. Techniques involved in this project including cell culture, microfluidics, live imaging with fluorescent confocal microscopy and many other assays. Our aim is to create validated disease models with physiological relevance, and to make breakthrough progress in explaining the disease mechanisms and finding the potential treatments.
