Abhishek graduated in 2013 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur with a Btech (honors) in Biotechnology. He interned in SINAPSE and worked on Central Pattern Generator (CPG) algorithms for developing a gait rehabilitation algorithm for stroke patients. At his home institution, he has worked on developing machine learning algorithms for bimolecular protein docking and handwritten digit classification using multi-resolution neural networks. Abhishek is currently working on developing a CPG inspired robotic locomotion algorithms for intelligent autonomous robot control. He uses the hexapod and a quadcopter for testing the algorithms. He is also working to develop the neural model of cortico-CPG pathway and its knowledge representation, and on developing neural inspired algorithms for neuromorphic vision systems using the ATIS camera. His research interests include Neural computation, robotics, neuromorphic vision and locomotion systems.
